Benefits of applying raw milk on face overnight

If you use raw milk on the face overnight you will wake up with amazing glowing skin in the morning as it:

Exfoliates: Raw milk contains lactic acid. This ingredient in milk is able to exfoliate the skin by breaking down the dead skin cells on your skin.

At night the skin produces new fresh skin cells and replaces old skin cells. If you have lactic acid on the skin from the milk this will help your skin swamp out old cells for new cells faster.

Lactic acid can be found in over the counter chemical exfoliators such as this one.

Moisturizes: Raw milk has many nutrients in it. These include lactose, proteins, fats, calcium and vitamin A, B12, D and zinc. When you are sleeping the skin increases circulation on the face.

Because of this added circulation, the nutrients in the milk are thus better able to absorb the nutrients on the skin for better moisturization.

Makes your skin glow Raw milk will give you beautiful glowing skin. It does this by hydrating the skin and helping you fight dryness.

If you use the milk overnight you will wake up with an amazing glow that will last the whole day.

This is a good overnight mask that will work just as well as raw milk.

Fights acne: When we sleep the level of inflammation on the skin decreases, helping to decrease acne on the skin.

Raw milk helps to keep acne under control by removing excess oil on the face, which would have caused acne. Using raw milk overnight will help reduce acne more efficiently.

Getting good amounts of sleep and using products at night (especially moisturizing products) or overnight is very beneficial to the skin in general. Not getting enough sleep at night is very detrimental to the skin.

Other benefits of using raw milk

Great face cleanser: The milk will get rid of the impurities on your skin these impurities include dirt, sebum and excess oil

Helps heal dry skin: The nutrients in the milk will be a god sent to your dry skin. You can wipe the milk into your skin or soak your dry feet in the milk for a softening pampering treatment.

Add any natural humectant like honey to the mixture to give you a better result, this is a great honey to use.

Another way to get rid of dry skin is by using an LED face mask, read more about the best for dry skin and rosacea here.

Lovely bath: The raw milk is not only beneficial to the skin on your face, but it can also be used on the skin on your body.

Add 1 or 2 litres of milk into your bath and this will give you beautiful soft glowing skin all over. (Just like Cleopatra).

Great for sensitive skin: The milk is able to calm any redness or irritation on the skin.

This will not irritate your skin like other skincare products do. To use simply massage the milk into the skin then use a cotton round to wipe it off

Toner: The moisturizing ingredients in the raw milk will make your skin look exceptional. Toning with milk is not recommended if you use pasteurised milk. This is especially true if you have oily skin.

Get rid of a tan: You might have been out in the sun and gotten tanned in areas that you would rather not be tan. Raw milk will be the answer to your tanning worries.

Antiaging: It has been said that Cleopatra not only used raw milk to give her glowing skin, she also used it to counteract the effects of ageing.

The raw milk will help you achieve wrinkle-free skin. LED face masks are also great to use for antiageing, read about the best on here.

The raw milk has enzymes which were beneficial in helping to rejuvenate the face and reduce wrinkles.

This is not an end-all and be-all treatment though, you need to use a retinoid serum (this is a great one) and other antiaging products to get the best results.

Don’t worry retinoids are safe to use, this article looks into it.

Milk for oily skin

Because there is a high-fat content in milk I don’t recommend you use it overnight if you have oily skin.

The milk and all its fat can mix in with the sebum on your skin and clog your pores causing pimples, and other types of breakouts if left overnight.

If you desire you can use it as a face wash but be sure to rinse well after use so it doesn’t leave an oily residue that can wind up clogging your pores.

If you don’t want to take your chances with using raw milk on your face you can rather use this milk powder as an alternative, this one is well-loved.

Goat milk powder is also amazing for the skin, especially if you have oily skin. Read more here

If you don’t know if your skin is oily here is a helpful guide that will help you figure it out.

Washing face with milk every day

If you so desire you can definitely use raw milk on your face every day. Its moisturising effects will ensure that your skin doesn’t dry out.

The nutrients in the milk will enrich your skin on a daily basis, this is great to maintain the health of your skin.

Because the raw milk gently exfoliates your skin using lactic acid using it on your skin will ensure that your skin is free from dead skin cell build-up.

It has been said that Cleopatra bathed in milk and honey to keep her looking beautiful and her skin glowing.

If you aren’t sold on using raw milk every day then you can use it occasionally.

You can alternate between using raw milk on your skin and a normal cleanser or face wash. This is a great one that gently cleanses your skin without being harsh or drying.

Does milk really whiten your skin?

The milk doesn’t actually whiten the skin, but it can make your skin look lighter. This is because of the lactic acid that is present in raw milk and all milk.

Just like any other chemical exfoliator, the lactic acid removes the top layer of dead skin cells from your skin.

This will result in a slightly lighter complexion. Don’t worry, the milk will only lighten the skin by about half a shade and your skin will only become half a shade lighter after continuous use over a three month period.

Can raw milk be used as a toner?

If you’re happy with the face wash or cleanser you’re currently using and need a gentle and natural toner then raw milk is a great option for you.

The milk will still moisturise and invigorate your skin if used as a toner or a cleanser.

To use as a toner simply soak a cotton round or cotton ball in the milk and wipe it on your face just as you would with any other toner.

Milk on the face for acne, is it a good idea?

If you have acne then using raw milk overnight can help with acne as well. Acne is caused by pores becoming clogged with sebum, dead skin cells and acne-causing bacteria.

The lactic acid found in raw milk will do wonders to clear out the pores. Any dust, dirt or sebum in your pores will be cleared out keeping acne at bay.

This is also beneficial because it helps get rid of whiteheads, blackheads and pimples or any other blemishes you may have.

Drinking milk and acne.

If milk consumption is making your skin break out then you should cut the milk out of your diet.

The reason milk makes some people break out is that the milk that they are drinking contains antibiotics, hormones and or chemicals.

The hormones in milk can wind up giving you blemishes. It reacts to the testosterone in the body, this can result in more sebum production on your skin.

When this sebum mixes with dead skin cells and acne-causing bacteria you will develop acne.

If you can’t stop drinking milk then switch to organic or whole milk to avoid the high levels of chemicals and hormones in normal milk.

Note that there are a variety other reasons why you could be breaking out though. You can figure out the other reasons based on where the pimple location is.

Overall there are great benefits to using raw milk on your skin overnight. It will improve your skin giving you smoother, softer, more supple and glowing skin. That’s it for my article on raw milk for the face overnight. If you enjoyed this article please share it.
